Emerging Preferred Option Public Participation Day

A Public Participation Day (PPD) for the scheme will be held on Wednesday 10^th December at The Maritime Hotel between 4pm and 8pm.

Following detailed assessment of flooding mechanisms in Bantry and its environs and previous consultations with the public, the areas at risk of flooding have been identified and an emerging preferred option has been identified. The project team will be there on the day to present the emerging preferred option.  You are invited to attend the participation day to submit comments and make your views known to the project team. Feedback from the event will be considered in finalising the preferred option for Bantry Flood Relief Scheme which will then be brought forward to planning stage.

Earlier participation days in May 2022 (at Áras Beanntraí) and May 2024 (at The Maritime Hotel) were very well attended. A good turnout is expected for this latest event.
