Topographical Survey Works

Over the next number of weeks Murphy Geospatial, surveying contractors, will undertake the second phase of detailed topographical surveys for the scheme. Their survey crews will be carrying out works in and around Bantry in October and November. The works will involve surveys of river channels, road and footpath alignments, property boundaries and existing roadside structures. Modelling has progressed over the last number of months, and this survey is to help inform the design of potential flood relief measures.

Harbour Wall & River Alley Culvert Surveys

On Monday 11th Sept 2023, structural engineers for the project will carry out preliminary survey works on the Harbour Wall and the River Alley Culvert. These survey works will determine the condition of the Harbour Wall and River Alley Culvert, the results of which will ultimately feed into the optioneering process to select the final flood defence solution for Bantry.

In recent months, ground investigation works and ecological surveys have been undertaken as part of the scheme.
